The UK is set for a deep freeze according to the National Weather Society. With the UK firmly into the Winter season, the weather is set to take a major dip over the coming weeks. With temperatures to fall as low as -4oC the UK is advised to ensure all the jobs needed to insulate and warm your harm are taken.
The UK faces the weather dip most years, with the weather agency often over forecasting to ensure that people are prudent when it comes to their personal safety and organising their routine around potential bad weather conditions.
Some tips are shown below for the Mini Freeze we will see over the next few weeks:
- Ensure that all your windows are sealed. You can buy seals for windows and doors for £0.99 from any bargain store such as B&M, the Range and many more. This will ensure that the drafty cold air cannot get into your property and the heat you have in your house, doesn’t escape for the sake of £0.99.
- Ensure that you have emergency contact details ready. In the event that you live on your own, and/or are elderly, agencies recommend that you keep a mobile device or ensure you can access your telephone in the event of an emergency. Ensuring that you have the contact details will enable you to contact anyone in the event of an emergency.
- If you have a smart meter please ensure that you have topped up your meters, this will ensure that you have enough gas and electric on your meters in the event you cannot pop out of the house due to the weather conditions. Smart meters allow you if you are on prepayment to top up in your home.
Keep safe this winter and ensure that you don’t find yourself caught out in the cold!
